Do an ex-wife need travel consent from ex-spouse to take child out of country?
Hi,
I am divorced and the custodian of my child. I am traveling with my child to my home country.
Do I need a written permission from the guardian?
Do I need to show the letter at the airport?

Good day,
Yes, you will need his permission for traveling outside the country.
At the airport, it is not mandatory to ask you about that.
Dear Questioner,
Greetings!
Generally, in a situation like yours, there will not be any restriction in the airport for traveling with the child unless there are specific provisions or restrictions in the divorce decree or custody agreement that require court approval for international travel.
Kindly check the conditions of custody as specified in your divorce decree.

Best Regards,

Dear Questioner,
It depends on whether the legal guardian has filed a travel ban against the custodian guardian (you).
You may seek a no objection certificate (NOC) from the legal guardian if it is all amicable between you and the guardian; otherwise, he may file a travel ban fearing you intend to abduct the child.
As such, the NOC or letter is not required if the legal guardian did not file a travel ban application.
