Wrongfully accused? You would have received a call by now

We've been in a situation with another driver at the mall parking. While driving past us, she drove her car to block us. When we got out of the car, she was very angry with us.

First, she was accusing us of saying the F word to her while we were in the car (We did not). Then she said that my wife was giving her the middle finger (Again, my wife did not). She was simply reaching out to wear the car seat belt.). No matter how much we tried to explain or calm her down, she insisted that she would report to the police.

She then took our car plate no. and drove off. We're 100% sure that we didn't do any of the things she said. However, we're not sure if that corner of the mall has a camera to prove our innocence.

We're really worried that this would turn into a serious matter and we don't have a chance to explain ourselves. What do you suggest us to do in this case?

I'm sure she was intimidating you. If she had to do what she threatened with, then she should have filed a complaint by now as it is more than a reasonable time to file a complaint (which should normally be done within 3 working days).

The police may take action within 48 hours from lodging a criminal report or it may contact the prosecutor for further advice. Once the complaint is forwarded to the prosecutor, it must be dealt with within 14 days of receiving.

You need not worry. You can ask for CCTV footage. Don't worry explaining if you are innocent and believe what you did was not against the law.
