A Sharjah-based company doubled my salary offer after seeing my current payslip. Is this a red flag?
Hello,
I received a job offer from an LLC located in Al Mareija, Sharjah. Initially, they offered me a very low salary, but after I shared my current salary slip, they raised it by more than 100%.
I suspect it might be a fraud, as the number provided on their website is not reachable, and the website itself is very simple and does not clearly mention the nature of their business.
I have not paid anything to them but have shared my documents after the interview. I got this job offer through an Indian HR consultant.
Please advise on this matter!
Dear Inquirer,
Your concern is valid. Job offers that include unusually high salary increases and come from companies with unclear online presence or unreachable contact numbers can often indicate employment fraud.
Since you have already shared your personal documents, it’s important to take precautionary steps to protect your identity and prevent misuse of your information.
We recommend seeking legal assistance immediately to verify the company’s legitimacy and take any necessary actions.
You can book a consultation with us through our website or authorize our office to handle the matter on your behalf.
Best regards,
Be advised that, based on the information you provided, there are several red flags suggesting this job offer may be fraudulent, including the unusually large salary increase, an unreachable company number, and a website with insufficient information about their business.
Since you have not paid any money, you are not financially at risk, but sharing personal documents may pose identity risks.
It is strongly recommended to verify the company with the UAE DED, confirm the legitimacy of the HR consultant, avoid sharing further information until verification, and report any suspicious activity to the UAE Police or the Economic Crime Department.
